This work of contemporary dance invokes deep reflection on the issue of ‘returning to innocence’, while conveying a moving message on the erosion of ethical values and the reckless damage to Mother Nature.
As grim realities of the constantly occurring calamities haunt us, this work seeks to deliver a message: in the face of all these disasters, what can we do about our future? Using the subtle power of the stage, Dua Space Dance Theatre sends a silent appeal to the audience against the recklessness and selfishness of our darker nature has inflicted on Mother Nature, and urges us to strive for higher ideals of morality and ethics. Hence, humanity and environment are the main quests of this creation.
About To experience the Art of Life through Eco Design – Eco Design Workshop 1.0
Date: 18 Nov (Fri), 9.00 am – 5.00 pm
Venue: TPM, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur
Eco Design is an approach to design a service or product with consideration of the environmental impact throughout the whole life cycle. Designer with the integrated perspective of different process will be able to develop a new product or enhance the existing product with consideration beyond functionality, aesthetic and economy value but also include environment and social value. We learned the way to waste minimization is to reduce at source while design is the source for all creation of waste. Eco Design is the beginning of the first step to support environmental protection. Everyone can be designer, together we will build a new community with potential for improvement and changes for our eco system.
The Eco Sense Eco design workshop 1.0 is the first introductory class to Eco Design. Design has not been taught in the context of its ecological impact. Hence we aim to nurture new generation of designers who are able to use the power of design to solve product and service problem as well as to assist in developing new business model based on sustainability.
About Growing the Seeds of Hope -Tree Planting
Date: 24 Nov (Thurs), 8.30 am – 12.30 pm
Venue: FRIM, Kepong
The objective of organising the tree planting event:
- To reduce the environmental burden via reforestation/forest restoration project
- To protect the biodiversity of the site especially the local animal
The trees that we see and get shelter now was planted by someone long time ago. Hence we are going to plant for the future generation. Every participant will be given a piece of paper to write their wish and plant together with the tree. Together we grow the seeds of hope for a better tomorrow.
We choose to plant fruit trees i.e. Kundang, Kasai, Rambai, Asam Gelugor, Durian Hutan this time as the fruits will be the food source of the monkeys living in FRIM. We can then help to keep them in their natural habitat and not having them wandering around the hostel at FRIM and residential area.
